Early Life: Growing Up in Bollywood’s Shadow
Born on December 23, 1997, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Ahaan Panday entered the world with Bollywood already running through his veins. His father, Chikki Panday (also known as Aloke Sharad Panday), is a successful businessman with high-profile connections across the entertainment industry. His mother, Deanne Panday, is a renowned fitness expert who has trained several Bollywood celebrities.
Growing up in Mumbai’s elite circles, Ahaan was exposed to the film industry from childhood. However, unlike many star kids who get launched immediately after college, Ahaan took a different route. He spent years learning the craft, working behind the camera, and understanding every aspect of filmmaking before stepping in front of it.
His upbringing was split between the glamorous world of Bollywood parties and the grounded values his parents instilled in him. This unique combination would later become his biggest strength as an actor – the ability to be relatable while maintaining that quintessential Bollywood charm.

Before becoming the face of Saiyaara, Ahaan Panday worked extensively as an assistant director. His filmography behind the camera includes major projects like:
- Freaky Ali (2016) – Working alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui
- Rock On 2 – Understanding music-driven narratives

The YRF Breakthrough
In February 2024, the announcement came that sent ripples through Bollywood: Ahaan Panday would be making his acting debut with Yash Raj Films under the direction of Mohit Suri. The film, initially untitled, was later revealed as Saiyaara – a young love story in the tradition of Suri’s Aashiqui franchise.
What made this casting particularly interesting was Aditya Chopra’s personal involvement. The YRF head honcho, known for his selective eye for talent, saw something special in Ahaan that convinced him to bet big on this newcomer.
Saiyaara Success: Breaking Records and Hearts
Released on July 18, 2025, Saiyaara became an overnight sensation. The film, co-starring Aneet Padda, struck a chord with audiences across age groups. Within its first week, the movie had achieved:
